A new Artobject of Jim van Overbeek. A surprising combination of an oldfashioned Dutch boat and New Pop icons. The boat is placed at the center of the Montessori Primary School in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
Auction for 'Stichting Jaimy' a big success!
NIMCO House of Shoes (38 special shoeshops in The Netherlands) organized a great charity auction in cooperation with agency TrendPress. The location was Nijmegen, The Netherlands, during the famous Four Day Marches in july. A colourful original painting of Jim van Overbeek was sold for 5.800 euro !
The total amount was for ‘Stichting Jaimy’. Jaimy was a great kid who died from cancer in 2001 when he was just 9 years old. His last wish was that there should be some extra toys, games & computers available for very sick children in Dutch hospitals. That’s exactly the goal of ‘Stichting Jaimy’ !
Another painting was made by Jim van Overbeek with the help of the visitors of the auction. The result was a great artwork that will be hanging in the NIMCO headquarters in Nijmegen.
London & New York
For the third time Pop-Art of Jim van Overbeek was part of a special Exhibition in the Gulbenkian Galleries of the Royal College of Art in London, UK (17th - 26th november 2006). At the same time his work could be seen at The Creative Center, New York, USA (1st december 2006 – 5th january 2007). Both exhibitions were followed by an Art Auction.

The Senseo coffeemachine (designed by Philips and DE-coffee) is 'hot' in The Netherlands. About 500 Dutch Artists created their idea of the Senseo during a special contest. Jim van Overbeek was chosen by Philips - together with 24 other Artists - to exhibit his Pop-Art Senseo 'Mysterious Morning Coffee' in the 'Republiekszaal' at the famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, where there was a lot of media attention. 'Mysterious Morning Coffee' was given ranking nr. 1 by the internet-visitors and was chosen in the 'top 5' by the jury. The Rijksmuseum is the most famous museum in The Netherlands (the 'Nachtwacht' of Rembrandt) and one of the most important museums in the world.

The Pop-Art of Jim van Overbeek was part of a special exhibition in the Gulbenkian Galleries of the Royal College of Art in London, UK. This exhibition was from 18th - 24th november, followed by an Art Auction on 25th and 26th november. Visitors could also see and buy Art from Damien Hirst, Paula Rego, David Bailey, Julian Opie, Grayson Perry, Milton Glaser and Tracey Emin to name a few.
Pop-Art Senseo at the Dutch Design Week

Pop-Artwork Jim van Overbeek for worldfamous DJ Tiësto
Just before a special concert in The Matrixx DanceArena (early May / East Netherlands), Dutch Pop-Artist Jim van Overbeek surprised superstar and number 1 DJ in the world Tiësto with an exclusive Pop-Art painting.
DJ Tiësto is the number 1 DJ in the world. His concerts in Europe, South America and The Far East are legendary. He won a 'Dutch Silver Harp', several TMF-Awards, 2 Dutch DJ-Awards and 1 MTV-Holland Award. DJ Tiësto received a Dutch Royal medal ('Officier in de Orde van Oranje Nassau'), is also the owner of 2 recordlabels and became famous worldwide with his live-show during the opening of the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens.
'In search of sunrise' was painted in the well known Pop-Art style of Jim van Overbeek. Tiësto loved the bright colours and made it clear to the audience that he had a nice space for this Artwork on his 'wall of fame'. The show in a crowded Matrixx was superb and lasted till deep in the night.

The Pop-Art of Jim van Overbeek was part of a special exhibition in the Gulbenkian Galleries of the Royal College of Art in London, UK. The exhibition this year included contributions by Sir Peter Blake, Tracey Emin, Julian Opie, David Shrigley, Damien Hirst, Christo, Hat designer Philip Treacy, 2003 Turner Prize nominee Grayson Perry, Filmmaker Terry Gilliam, Fashion designer Alexander McQueen, Clothes designer Maharashi and Graphic designer Milton Glaser. In the UK, the whole project was supported and co-sponsored by popstar David Bowie.
The 'Dreamcar-Project' 2003
Jim van Overbeek was the Artist of the 'Dreamcar-Project' of Polis Direct, a well-known insurance company from The Netherlands.
Over thousand visitors of the PD-website, designed their Dreamcar and submitted their entry. Finally, four winners were chosen. They received a very special prize - an Artwork of their own car, painted by Jim van Overbeek. This succesful Artproject was supported on National Television. Official Artist of the Marchingpass of the Nijmegen Four-Day Marches 1998 - 2005
The Nijmegen Four-Day Marches is one of the greatest and most impressive sports events of The Netherlands. The 44.000 participants walk 30, 40 or 50 km each day, four days long, to receive a special ‘medal-cross’. The Marchingpass of this event has become a very popular and wanted collector's item. Jim van Overbeek made original paintings in a contemporary Pop-Art style for the (creditcard-size) passes of passes of 1998 till 2005.

SportArtWatch
A special Limited Edition SportArtWatch was designed by Jim van Overbeek. Collectors can wear the image of the painting 'Yellow jersey' around their wrist everyday. Unfortunately, this edition is completely sold out.
Official Artist of the ABN AMRO Bank (ATP) World Tennis Tournament 2003, Rotterdam, The Netherlands
Jim van Overbeek was the Official Artist of the ABN AMRO Bank WTT 2003 - the world’s biggest (ATP) Indoor Tennis Tournament - in the famous Ahoy Arena in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. From an original Pop-Art painting (acrylic on canvas), a limited series of silkscreen prints were made for the ABN AMRO Bank head-office, as an exclusive gift for their highly valued business associates. The Artwork was also printed on clothing – a popular collector’s item.
One of the colourful silkscreens was presented by Jim van Overbeek (l), to the winner of the tournament, Russian player Max Mirnyi (r).
Pop-Art on Building, 2002
In december 2002, a small new building of an educational establishment in Nijmegen, The Netherlands, was presented to the public. Jim van Overbeek and his crew transformed the whole building in an amazing ArtObject, under the name: ‘Playing children in a sunny world’.

Artist of the 'Bicycle Info Books' of Batavus Cycles 2001
You can see the colourful Pop-Art paintings of Jim van Overbeek on 4 different ‘Bicycle Info Books’ of Dutch bicycle manufacturer Batavus. These special books are given to the buyers of a Batavus bicyle anywhere in Europe, is written in 5 languages (Dutch, English, German, Danish and Swedish) and the printed edition counts 1.000.000 copies.
European Championships Mountainbike Logo 2000
The European Championships Mountainbike 2000 were held in Rhenen, The Netherlands. For a lot of riders it was the last test for the Sydney Olympics. Thrilling races on a tough circuit. The pop-art painting of a biker in action was also used for a complete line of collector's items and clothing.
'Living' shop-window in de Bijenkorf Store
During the summer 2000, the famous Bijenkorf Store in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, created a 'living' shop-window.
For one week, author Wim Daniëls was sitting behind his desk to write new stories. He was surrounded by paintings of Jim van Overbeek. Everyday Wim Daniëls received guests for a short interview. With the help of microphones, the public outside could follow - and even take part in - the conversation. On the photo, Wim Daniëls (r) is talking to Jim van Overbeek and well-known author Herman Pieter de Boer (l). Afterwards, Jim signed his work at Gallery Catch, just next to the Bijenkorf.
World Championships Cyclocross Logo 1991
In 1991, the Dutch National Cycling Federation commissioned Jim van Overbeek to create a logo for the World Championships Cyclocross in Gieten, The Netherlands - an event that attracted a lot of global media attention. The final design existed of a few simple but powerful lines in combination with the colours of the rainbow and those of the Dutch flag. The Artwork was used for all the official papers and displayed on a big screen behind the podium, in combination with a complete line of collector's items and merchandising.
